Yes – I work with pre-teens (ages 8 – 13) and teens (ages 14 – 17). Often the kids who end up in my office are the ones who’ve been labeled as difficult or shut down. I’ve found that most of the time, they just need someone who meets them where they are.

I also work closely with parents, because the home environment matters as much as what happens in the therapy room.

Yes. I offer telehealth throughout California. If you're located anywhere in the state, we can work together via secure video session.

For clients in Redding, in-person sessions are also available.

The first session is about getting a clear picture of what's going on and what you're hoping to change. I'll ask questions, you'll share what feels relevant, and by the end you'll already have some initial understanding of your patterns.

My goal is that you walk out of the first session with something useful – not just a feeling that someone listened.

It depends on what you're working on. Some clients see meaningful change in 8–12 sessions. Others work with me longer as new layers come up.

CBT is structured by design – we're building specific skills, not just exploring indefinitely. You'll know what we're working toward and how we're measuring progress.

Session fees are discussed during the free 15-minute consultation call. New Horizons Therapy Services currently accepts both private-pay clients and Partnership HealthPlan of California insurance for eligible clients.
